Word Search: Explorer Quest

Last updated: 15 September 2026. Mistix Waters LLP publishes the Word Search app.

General audience Ads, analytics, crash diagnostics, cloud sync

Summary

Information the app may process

Account and profile data

The app may process a Firebase user ID, sign-in provider information, display name, and avatar selection. If you choose Google or Apple sign-in, the provider may share information such as your name or email address according to their own policies and settings.

Gameplay and cloud data

The app may process gameplay progress, total stars, leaderboard scores, tournament entries, feedback you submit, and optional adventure backup data so those features can work across sessions or devices.

Diagnostics and product data

The app may process crash logs, performance diagnostics, device and OS details, usage events, and remote configuration checks to improve reliability, tune the experience, and understand how features are used.

Gameplay analytics in version 1.2.6

Version 1.2.6 uses Google Analytics for Firebase and our custom gameplay analytics service, which processes events through Firebase and Google Cloud BigQuery. When enabled, these services can process screen visits, level results, feature interactions, app version, device and operating-system information, and app or account identifiers. Events can be linked to an app account, including a guest account, or an app installation. They are not anonymous data.

On a new installation, or an upgrade where no gameplay-analytics preference has been saved, version 1.2.6 enables gameplay analytics by default. This default is not an affirmative opt-in. A previously saved off preference remains off, a valid saved on preference is preserved, and an unreadable preference is not treated as permission to enable collection. Previously queued custom analytics is cleared during the upgrade rather than sent under the new default.

Version 1.2.6 does not include a gameplay-analytics switch in Settings. You can contact us using the privacy contact below with questions or to request deletion of data we control. Contacting us does not itself change the app's collection setting, and deleting server records does not by itself prevent new records if you continue using an installation with analytics enabled.

Gameplay analytics does not grant permission for personalized advertising. The app sets Firebase Analytics ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization consent signals to denied separately from gameplay analytics. AdMob uses its own applicable ad privacy controls. Firebase Performance Monitoring collection remains disabled in version 1.2.6. Crash reporting, account services, cloud saves and Remote Config remain separate from the gameplay-analytics preference.

If you are using version 1.2.5

In version 1.2.5, Share gameplay analytics in Settings is off by default. If you turn it on, the app can send usage information such as screen visits, level results, and feature interactions to help us improve the game. These events are linked to your app account identifier, including a guest account identifier; they are not anonymous data. Our custom analytics service processes these events using Firebase and Google Cloud BigQuery.

Turning the setting off stops new optional gameplay analytics and clears analytics waiting on your device to be sent. If the app reports that it could not save your choice or clear waiting data, please retry. This cannot recall information already sent or a request already handed to the network. For deletion requests, use the data-deletion contact below; the setting does not delete existing server records.

This choice is separate from ad privacy choices, crash reporting, account services, cloud saves, and Remote Config. Version 1.2.5 disables native Firebase Analytics and Performance Monitoring collection; opting in enables only the app's custom gameplay analytics. Older app versions may still use the native collectors described elsewhere in this policy.

Account restoration in versions 1.2.5 and 1.2.6

During account restoration, the app may retain a local recovery record and a backup of guest progress so an interrupted transfer can be retried. When coin or power-up balances conflict, the app asks before continuing with the existing account's balances. Guest and account balances are not added together. The guest backup is retained locally, not transferred as extra spendable coins or power-ups, and the app does not offer a tool to spend the archived balance.

For older accounts missing individual saved balances, the app shows the corresponding device amounts and asks before copying only the missing balances once. Recorded account balances, including zero, are preserved. Later restorations use the saved account balances.

Ads and consent

The app may use Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK to show ads. Google may process device and usage data to provide, personalize, and measure ads. If required by law, the app may use Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent for ad personalization and related processing.

Local notifications used for reminders are scheduled on your device through the app. The app does not currently rely on remote push notifications for these reminders.

How information is used

Third-party services

Consent and choices

Where required, the app may show a consent form for ad personalization and related processing. Ad privacy options in Settings opens available Google UMP ad privacy choices; it is not a gameplay-analytics switch. In version 1.2.5, Share gameplay analytics controls the separate optional analytics service. Version 1.2.6 instead follows the default and saved-preference behavior described above and has no analytics Settings switch. Neither gameplay analytics nor ad consent changes your Google or Apple account settings.

Data retention

Data controlled by third-party services is retained according to those services' policies and configuration. Data we control, such as support messages, optional feedback, or optional cloud records, may be retained as long as reasonably necessary for support, operations, or legal compliance.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 outside ordinary app operations. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request.
